This is a combination of two images.
The bridge is an old pack horse bridge in Lancashire. It connects the tiny village of Wycoller to the remains of a large house just across the stream called Wycoller Hall.
The bridge is called Sally's Bridge and was named after Sally Owen, mother of the last squire of Wycoller Hall, Henry Owen Cunliffe.
The bridge is also interesting in as much that Charlotte Bronte often visited the area on her long walks across the moors and in fact the hall that is a little further along the track is thought to be were she based Ferndean Manor in the novel Jane Eyre

The cottage is an old Smithy in Northumberland dating from the 18th century. I was quite fascinated by the horse shoe frame around the door way.
Needs a full view to appreciate it

Both images are my own.
If anyone wants to use either image please ask me.

Wow, that looks amazing = and they've got Bilbo Baggins' front door! Can the public visit the smithy? (I just live down the road in Newcastle)

Hi Guy,
I am not sure if you can go into the Smithy. When we were there it was closed.
It is in a village called Ford...its on the B6353...very snotty place...private estate etc but you can drive into the village and go to the Smithy.
The Smithy is just on the road...all the rest of the stuff in the image like the bridge I put in.
Hate you to rush off there and find it is not as my pic looks.
Somewhere near there is a really freaky castle. it isnt Etal castle and I cant find it but we got there as it was closing and looked through the gates....really weird place.

Hi,
Found it. It is actually Chillingham Castle. It is up a long drive way. Sort of looks run of the mill as you walk from the car park but we lookied thru the iron gates and it is weird inside. They were just closing and it was our last day up that way.I think it is supposed t be the one of most haunted in Northumbria...but that could be the newcastle Brown :-) Probably cant take phots anyway...you know what these places are like but if your up that way have a look. There is also some high ground within a few miles where if you walk to the view point you can see about seven castles in Northumbria.
Dont know where it is as we just stopped there to have a coffee on the way back to the cottage we rented in Alwick.
Mind you I reckon you would be lucky to get good enough weather to see that distance to all the castles.
